About Me
Video editor with a Master’s of Media Arts from UofSC and 15+ years of experience.
The brand name FilmElf is a combination of my monogram (Emily Faith Ley) and a nod to my Masters of Media Arts. The FilmElf logo, a crescent moon intersected with a filmstrip, is another nod to my Graduate thesis project, How Chattanooga Mooned America, a documentary about the well-known Moon Pie snack from my hometown. I’ve worked as Producer, Director and Editor for University of South Carolina (Columbia) Media Services, WACH FOX 57, and the South Carolina Education Lottery. Currently, I’m co-producing the Columbia Children’s Theater shows for YouTube, filming and editing the multicam performances.
Video editing is my dream job! If you are a YouTube Content Creator, you are my dream client, and I will manage your post production process, freeing you up to focus fully on your dream job. Working with your video footage, I’ll blend relevant transitions, visual effects, stock graphics and music, and create intros and outros. I also sync live performances shot with multiple cameras, edit explainer videos, and clean up distractions in your recorded Zoom video meetings.
